930 Technical Project Manager Location: Palo Alto, CA Length: 1 Year If interested, please send resumes to Description: Technical Project Manager The Technical Project Manager will work with Varian to deliver solutions in their CRM Systems. Projects are typically related to , middleware, SAP ECC and Avaya (CTI) solutions. The Technical Project Manager is a key position for the implementation and execution of CRM Applications as well as other defined operational project initiatives. In this role, he/she is responsible for working with business analysts, developers and stakeholders in various aspects of the integration and leading the effort to document technical requirements, architecture, and design of deployment and integration of the solution The Technical Project Manager will be a member of the larger IT / Project team to deepen the relationship with customers and drive infrastructure initiatives. This position works with a multitude of different teams including CRM Implementation Consultants throughout the project lifecycle from strategic definition and proposal through scoping, requirements gathering, development, and implementation, user acceptance testing, and establishing and documenting support processes where needed. The Technical Project Manager will partner with the infrastructure architecture team that will set a common design context, which encourages design consistency. This consistency allows us to develop and reuse supporting architectural components, ensures the Architecture set by Architecture Leads evolves and meets their vision. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication, technical, and problem solving skills, as well as proven business consulting and project management experience Project Management Responsibilities The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for process definition and management oversight of infrastructure projects. Projects generally run 3-9 months in duration. * Determine Project needs and technical requirements required to execute infrastructure projects. * Work with Executive Project Sponsors to clarify and define strategy & objectives, scope and requirements needed to define the Architecture blueprint. * Manage project scope, drive resolution and keep project on schedule. * Develop and track project action items and issues. Document all necessary items as needed. * Identify and communicate risks and responses to mitigate project risk. * Responsible for the coordination and creation of project documentation and project processes. * Work with various IT teams to develop appropriate design, implementation, testing and documentation plans to ensure user acceptance, data quality, and system integrity. Other duties as needed. Requirements * Minimum 7 years Information Technology Project Management experience in an organizational setting * Ability to manage projects at a relatively detailed level (when necessary) while still possessing Executive level presence * Detail oriented with excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills * Excellent time management and prioritizing skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment * Experience delivering technical infrastructure to include data center infrastructure and related technologies and services * Software-as-a-Service experience (SaaS)/cloud computing * IT or Internet Site Project Management and Infrastructure experience * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project) and SharePoint * PMP certification a plus * Project Server Experience a plus. * Technical hands-on experience as a software developer, systems administrator, database administrator, storage engineer, or network administrator * Experience working with either CRM, ERP, Avaya or similar product preferred * Experience working within High Tech Manufacturing is preferred. 95% in Milpitas 5% in Palo Alto
