Minimum QualificationsPermanent status as an Addictions Program Specialist 1, G-18 and interested in reassignment; OR reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Addictions Program Specialist 1, G-18 or the Addictions Program Specialist Trainee eligible list; OR eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (i.e., Addictions Planning Analyst 1, Addictions Counselor 1). Duties DescriptionThe incumbent will be assigned to the Application Review Team in the Credentialing Unit and will be responsible for the review of all initial Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP)/Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) certificates. The incumbent will review the applications for completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements and make determinations on applicants' eligibility for examinations and CASAC Trainee certification. The incumbent will also provide technical assistance to renewal applicants and other individuals seeking credentialing information via the Credentialing Information Line. They will also assist in the administration of written credentialing examinations and routinely serve as an Agency representative at events to promote the credentials. Salary Range Addictions Program Specialist Trainee 1, NS, is $38,934 - $49,821; Salary Range Addictions Program Specialist Trainee 2, NS, is $41,170 - $52,552.
