We are currently searching for a HR Director to join our Corporate Headquarters located in Greenville, WI. The HR Director will support the corporate functions and be a key business partner with corporate executives and management. These include the Chief Finance Officer and the Finance organization, Chief Information Officer and the IT organization, Chief HR Officer and the HR team, with the possibility of additional teams as internal clients. This role does not have any direct reports.

Responsible for the integration of human resource programs and associated processes and projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. Acts as business partner with assigned client groups and a core contributor to the Human Resources team. Directs all of the people processes for assigned client groups in accordance with the policies and practices of School Specialty. Facilitates HR initiatives and implements and administers HR programs for assigned associate groups. Participates on larger HR project teams.

. Recruit for talent. Develop and implement staffing strategies to identify talent within and outside the division. Source for qualified and diverse talent and handle all aspects of the recruitment and offer processes. Track and report metrics.
. Serve as consultant with management on performance, compensation, organizational, and leadership matters.
. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the corporation.
. Serves as a core member of the HR team regarding strategy, program, and process design and execution. Engaged in regular calls and one-off projects.
. Facilitate communication among associates and management, providing guidance on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance. Mediate employee issues.
. Advise associates on payroll and benefits questions
. Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the associates in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
. Assist with planning, implementation, and on-going maintenance of employee relations, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Affirmative Action Plan for assigned group.
. Maintain knowledge of federal and state HR policies, programs, laws and issues.
. Coach and assist managers with associate development
. Facilitate employee survey results and action planning with management teams

Requirements: . Bachelor's degree in HR required.
. 5-10 years of HR Generalist experience.
. Extensive experience in employee relations and talent acquisition required.
. Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources administration.
. Knowledge of human resources laws and practices.
. High degree of familiarity with performance management and talent management processes.
. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with senior management staff and associates.
. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects.
. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
. Effective oral and written skills. Effective presentation and facilitation skills
