We are currently seeking a District Sales Manager to join our team. This position would cover the DC, VA, MD area.
Job Summary: Develops, leads and maintains major accounts. Develops strategies, solutions and implementation plans to expand and sustain account revenue. Increases business among existing customers and promotes organization to new clients in order to meet strategic business objectives.
Responsibilities: 1. Leads and takes ownership of the SSI (School Specialty) relationship at a strategic level with assigned, Large District Customers, and other designated accounts. 2. Develops strategies and implementation plans in collaboration with the customer(s) that deliver current year and sustaining performance. 3. Acts co-dependently with SSI Specialty divisions, and Contract and Geographic sales Teams; leverages myriad SSI capabilities to aide in achieving district sales objectives. 4. Executes quarterly stewardship process with assigned customers and re-plans as appropriate. 5. Influences the customer implementation of SSI programs, through deep penetration of customer decision makers. 6. Identifies and leads implementation of joint ventured customer plans. 7. Generates unique customer offerings and coordinates positioning of SSI bundle of goods and services with assigned customers. 8. Identifies multiple stakeholders of influence within the customer and develops solutions which incrementalize value. 9. Develops action plans to successfully define and capture strategic sales initiatives.
Requirements: . Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field; or equivalent work experience. Knowledge/Skills required . Superior ability to build collaborative relationships with multiple years relationship management experience . Excellent communication skills . Strong ability to prepare and deliver dynamic presentations . Strong ability to assess customer needs and facilitate implementation of solutions . Solid financial skills, including ability to analyze performance metrics . Previous experience with Miller-Heiman, or similar, selling curriculum preferred . Demonstrated skill in commitment to excellence and development . Capability to establish and manage against key performance metrics . Demonstrated ability to influence complex relationships . Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively . Ability to focus on Key Business and Customer indicators . Experience in category management and channel marketing . Strong influencing, facilitative and organization skills . 5-7 years of project and highly complex customer management experience . Quick study, ability to learn and cascade to multiple stakeholders . Strong knowledge of District structure and processes . Demonstrated ability to manage cross functional relationships . Proven ability to build sustainable business growth . Willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned geography
