We are currently seeking a Product Development Manager to join our team in Greenville, WI.
The Product Development Manager is responsible for executing against product design and intent as defined by product managers, marketing, and sales. This includes understanding annual market plans and budgets that provide in-depth product and market intelligence including competitive analysis/landscape, political and funding issues, and strategies to pre-launch, launch, and maintain products based on revenue targets. The Product Development Manager must build relationships and connect with all functional areas of the company including sales, operations, and finance. The Product Development Manager must be able to execute development against market research data. The position works closely with design vendors, authors, writers, and various other third parties that create content, designs, and specification for new and revised products. The Product Development Manager must bring both a creativity and analytic ability to the role and be consistently engaged in customer facing activities.
Responsibilities: . Working with authors, design firms, other third parties, develop content that meets agenda/product requirements . Execute content against product design and market research . Contribute in the development of marketing plans, pricing, and competitive analysis . Contribute in the development of product messaging for promotion, collateral, and advertising . Provide sales training and support when needed . Work directly with product development to build market needs into product features. . Serve as part of the product champion team and expert internally and in the field.
Requirements: . 3-5 years prior experience in a product development role, in a related industry preferred . Entry level candidates may come with a business background, MBA preferred . Bachelors or above in Business or education related field. Knowledge/Skills required: . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Strong analytic and strategic planning skills . Ability to prioritize and multitask . Demonstrated ability to build partner relationships . Strong marketing and presentation skills . Able to work with minimal supervision. . Able to work individually and as part of a team. . Ability to communicate effectively with diverse levels, skill sets and functions. . A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of, and communicate, new industry trends, customer needs and possible application to real world projects. . Experience with new media solutions to support product/ marketing initiatives.
