Overview:

This position is designed for the associate who has mastered internal agency processes and demonstrated a strong aptitude for more strategic levels of responsibility as it pertains to client relationships and the delivery of agency services. The Account Supervisor will guide, manage and direct agency services as the primary owner of one or more key account relationships. He/she must be considered a trusted advisor both by internal and external teams. The associate should be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the advertising agency, as well as the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, at highly strategic and savvy levels. An Account Supervisor will be able to own account relationships across several clients, brands, types of service, and therapeutic areas. In this role, opportunities for managing direct reports within Client Services are also expected. The position will report to more senior personnel within the associate's assigned studio and ultimately to the VP, Studio Director.

Description of Duties:

Client Interaction
* Serves as client's day-to-day point of contact for moderate to large sized initiatives
* Adept at leading tactically-oriented client meetings and discussions; capable of leading more strategically-oriented meetings/discussions with senior client personnel
* Able to expand client relationships beyond service delivery related interactions to strategically related interactions
* Adept at managing client expectations regarding tactical delivery, pushing back when necessary
* Adeptly addresses scope challenges/issues/status with client; elevates when needed
* Passionately works on one to three key client accounts/brands, depending on size and nature of relationship (i.e. project based vs. scope based)
* Articulates client's brand strategy and ensures strategy carries through in service delivery
* Proficient at managing third-party relationships

Project Management
* Oversees a portfolio of projects as a whole, with the ability to dive deeply into specific project needs, as required
* Proficiently owns, both internally and in conjunction with client and third party contributors, the on-time, on-budget delivery of projects by:
* thoroughly understanding project parameters and deadlines
* proficient awareness of factors that will affect scope
* proactively communicating with all contributors (internal and external) when project circumstances may be affecting deadlines and/or budgets
* prioritizing project tasks so that tasks stay on track
* Oversees use of project management and operations tools to manage day-to-day studio activities - tools may include Microsoft Project, BaseCamp, Blue Diesel Proforma, Blue Diesel Resource Tracking, and Blue Diesel status reporting; able to proficiently step-in and take on such responsibilities when needed
* Proactively works with studio team members to resolve, and elevate as necessary, high impact project-related issues and resource staffing needs
* Develops and delivers internal briefings to outline project parameters
Financial Management
* Develops scope of service and project agreements, in conjunction with clients and available consultation with senior level studio staff
* Facilitates resolution, with clients, of budgetary issues for moderate to large sized initiatives
* Ensures SOX compliance in all necessary operational and financial processes
* Responsible for and oversees all financial management aspects for clients, such as estimates, service agreements, billings, receivables, etc.
* Ensures studio team's ability to work hours that have been scoped
Knowledge
* Learns, understands, and internalizes assigned brands in detail; deeply knows brand's competitive positioning and messaging; understands brand's tactical needs and key strategic aspects
* Keen understanding of Blue Diesel's DRIVE methodology and its application across varied types of interactive services; strong ability to guide studio team in use of DRIVE
* Adept in internal project and operational processes
* Possesses specific subject matter expertise within one or more key areas of Blue Diesel's scope of capabilities
* Deeply understands distinct domain needs and how those needs are interdependent in completing projects
* Developing knowledge within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry
* Applies knowledge and experience to continuously improve Blue Diesel processes
* Able to oversee production key client deliverables, such as requirements documentation and test plans
* Adept with clients' operational processes
* Stays current with interactive trends and developments; shows ability to suggest application to clients' needs
* Developing ability to apply combination of interactive and industry knowledge to the benefit of clients as well as Blue Diesel
* Understands client internal processes and seeks opportunities to create process efficiencies across client brands
* Develops and maintains account plans
Business Development
* Able to manage and lead business development efforts for small to moderately sized initiatives
* Able to recognize new business opportunities, both within scope of assigned accounts and with new potential clients; may need to elevate opportunities to more senior staff in order to develop them appropriately
* Helps sell in new strategies and tactics with current clients by understanding client needs and opportunities aligned with Blue Diesel services
* Ensures case studies are created at the conclusion of projects
People Management
* Proficient at coaching and mentoring skills for more junior staff members; appropriately delegates more junior staff members to take ownership of support tasks; may also have formal performance management responsibilities
* May have responsibility for directly managing one to three more junior staff
* Helps drive studio and team excitement, enthusiasm, and passion
Travel
* Able to travel to key client meetings and events, based on project activities
* Expected to travel frequently to visit client in order to develop and maintain strong inter-personal relationships

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Bachelor's degree
* At least 5-7 years of general work experience is preferred, with 3-4 years in customer or client facing roles and 2-5 years experience working with interactive, 1-2 years general marketing experience
* Experience working for an agency and/or within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
* Proven track record of project management capability
* Ability to manage teams
* Management responsibilities for Client Services staff
* Articulate and clear in written and oral communications
* Effective in a high pressure environment
* Proactive and highly collaborative
* Thorough and detail oriented
* Proficient with standard office productivity software (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
