ANALYST, DEMAND PLANNER

Lighting and Building Systems Controls



Our client is a leading manufacturer of wiring devices with a product offering of more than 20,000 distinct catalog offerings serving the industrial, commercial, OEM and residential markets.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for executing all aspects of finished goods demand planning. The key responsibilities involve executing proper demand planning strategies as established by management to work with the inventory supply strategy. Responsibilities include working directly with sales, business units, customers and supply planning to execute agreed upon demand planning programs as appropriate for the strategies, goals and objectives.

· Monitor sales to identify and track spikes in demand and significant forecast deficiencies

· Determine best possible stocking strategy based on item classification and expected service levels to our customers

· Communicate to supply chain planning changes in the demand plan prior to weekly DRP / MRP runs

· Enforce data integrity between phase-out and phase-in of items

· Review customer based forecasts to company demand plan

· Collaborate with Business Units and Sales channel to determine item forecast levels

· Demand planning to incorporate input from demand history, sales, and product management

· Interpret and communicate forecast performance of prior month(s) to Supply Chain management


* Research and analyze demand against forecast exceptions and execute appropriate actions to correct projections

Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree in business or related field

* 3-5 years experience in Supply Chain or Demand Planning, preferably in a discrete manufacturing environment

* Knowledge of Demand Planning / Forecasting tools, techniques and best practices

* An understanding of supply chain and inventory management fundamentals

* APICS Certifications and/or well versed in Lean Six Sigma business methodologies

* Experience with common forecasting packages (e.g. Demand Solutions, Manugistics, Demantra)
