Summary
Provides logistics support services to the Office of Customs & Border Protection (CBP) as a member of the CTSC Prime Integration Contract (PIC) Logistics Group. The primary function of the PIC is to repair and maintain all CBP high technology inspection equipment located at CBP ports of entry in the U.S. and at select locations abroad. Primary Log II duties are in the maintenance support and planning element of integrated logistics support (ILS) but will also include, but not be limited to, technical documentation and data, design interface, supply support, PHS&T, support & test equipment, facilities and environment, manpower & personnel and computer resources. Primarily assists Log III and above in providing complex equipment performance assessment, and PIC & subcontractor maintenance services assessment utilizing reliability, maintainability and availability (RM&A) analyses and several other ILS management and analytical tools. The Log II Contributes research and input to ILS documents and should be familiar with or quickly become familiar with standard ILS elements and concepts. The Log II will work under direction of more senior logistics personnel. Superior analytical skills and aptitudeis a key asset to plan and accomplish logistics support tasking while working as a member of an integrated team that includes Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering as key elements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Familiarize oneself with CBP high technology inspection equipment
2. Perform JCN failure coding (Problem, Failure, Cause, Action Taken) in the maintenance historical database (Maximo) and monitor the Outage Report and vendor JCN status emails
3. Download a variety of technical data and update maintenance support databases
4. Maintain accurate lists of PIC supported equipments and their locations.
5. Assist in the analysis behind and development of large NII transition reports
6. Assist in the conduct of performance assessments of CBP high technology inspection equipment by analyzing historical maintenance data through RM&A metrics, failure mode identifiers, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, etc.; identify areas of concern, trends, strengths, etc.
7. Assist in the conduct of performance assessments of PIC and subcontractor equipment maintenance services and maintenance management efforts by analyzing historical maintenance data
8. Document assessment findings indraftanalytical documents and reports including trend analyses, technical summaries, and statistical summaries; be alert to capture lessons learned and submit to supervisor
9. Contribute (as required) to development of and review of internally and externally generated technical documents, manuals, analyses, plans (e.g. ILSP), work instructions, etc.; provide analytical insight and comments
10. Possibly support the CBP new equipment installation acceptance testing efforts through participation in Site Acceptance Tests
11. Participate in various CBP meetings as required to provide logistics support analysis and insight as required.

* Data mining and analysis experience; programming experience a plus
* Microsoft Office Suite user (intermediate level minimum); journeyman level in Excel (charts, pivot tables) preferred; MS Access a plus
* Solid communications (including oral presentations); demonstrated technical report writing and MS Word skills
* Some familiarity and experience in integrated logistics, especially in maintenance support planning a plus
* Self-starter, ability to work with limited supervision and in a multi-tasking environment
* Ability to perform under pressure
* Adaptable to changing priorities, schedules and tasking
* Mechanical aptitude a plus


Education and/or Experience

* A minimum of 1 year of data analysis experience strongly preferred; Associate's degree or equivalent desirable.
