Intermediate level candidate needed. The individual will be designing and developing Cognos reports. The individual will also perform Life Cycle Support (LCS) activities. Essential: Cognos 8.0 (Report Studio, Query Studio, and Framework Manager), SQL, relational database knowledge, SQL perforance tuning/troubleshooting experience. Like to have: data modeling, UNIX, PL/SQL, and experience with PeopleSoft HRMS. Supports a given application or applications entailing some programming, some system administration skills, and the ability to analyze a given problem, diagnose it and find its root cause, and then either solve it or pass the problem on to the relevant people if it does not lie within the application analyst's area of responsibility. Responsible for supporting applications programmed with a variety of programming languages and using a variety of database systems, middleware systems and the like. Involves customer contact involving getting a description of the problem, making a diagnosis and then either creating a fix or passing the problem to the responsible area. #-#-# Required Skills This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph Data warehouse and data mart architecting, designing, and modeling of data. Microsoft Analysis Services and DTS development. Specific use of DTS in a business intelligence environment. Proficiency with the Cognos BI suite. Relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling. Data modeling tools. ETL design and development. ETL tools. Knowledge of DB2 database, SQL, OLAP, and relational star and snowflake schemas. Proficient in the use of SQL. Ability to configure and tune a Microsoft SQL server environment. Microsoft software (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). Management supervision uired Experience Five (5) years of proficiency with the Microsoft Analysis Services and DTS development. Specific use of DTS in a business intelligence environment. Five (5) years of proficiency with the Cognos BI suite. Experience with relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling. Experience with a variety of data modeling tools.
