Position Description:
CGI is seeking an Application Lead/Senior Java/J2EE Developer whose responsibilities will include:
? Complete the delivery of design, code or testing for modules or multiple functions related to IS development initiatives. ? Prepare requirement definition, design, technical specifications. ? Provide coding, testing and implementation support ? Analyze user requirements, and defines technical project scope and assumptions for assigned tasks. ? Create business and/or technical designs for new systems, and/or modifications to existing systems. ? Formal experience in understanding and application of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required.
Required Skills: ? 7-10 years of experience in the design, development and deployment of n-tier enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, utilizing technologies such as JSP and JDBC. - At least 2 years of experience in the role of Lead Developer, and experience with architecture and design of web applications. - Should have managed development team and have direct responsibility for deliverables - Working knowledge of HTML and XML, Web Services is preferred. - Experience preparing accurate technical work estimates and technical design documentation is essential. - Experience with web frameworks like struts/spring - Must have a strong background in full life cycle development - Strong verbal and written communication skills required - Possess a strong understanding of IT concepts including database concepts, structures, software / application development techniques and testing techniques - Must be proactive and collaborative - Experience in managing global team - both onsite and offshore
Desired Skills: ? Financial services or banking industry experience ? Good understanding of software development life cycle and coding standards. ? Experience in configuration management and code version control. ? Technical documentation content and template creation skills. ? Time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines. ? Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
