Applications Engineer - Mixed Signal Embedded Controls Position Summary: Our company is currently searching for a Product Line Applications Engineer that will offer any needed support to our Notebooks & Consumer battery products. Her or she will be responsible for facilitating our industry leading, performance battery gauging Products.
We would prefer a Mixed-signal Embedded Control Designer that is very knowledgeable of battery systems & batteries. The successful candidate will be developing our future devices, while also promoting our current ones. This position requires the engineer to serve as a local representative and be able to provide technical system knowledge of the latest technologies, and technology related to data conversion, high voltage analog, & system design.
Duties: Supporting our customers who use the company?s battery monitoring products for Notebooks and Consumer applications Design complex reference & application design circuits Make visits to customers for the promotion of parts Support the new IC definition Train internal FAE and Sales teams Lead investigations into failure analysis Develop simple application circuits Complete customizable firmware solutions for customers Create software solutions that will automate characterization & measurements of battery applications Characterize circuits & chips Offer recommendations of parts for customers Complete articles for international & national magazines
Responsibilities: Write product literature (application notes & data sheets) and evaluate new products Working cross-functionally with field teams, designers, customers, & definers, you will provide quick-turn around product-specific technical applications engineering support Perform lab evaluations on new & existing product silicon Create competitive analysis summaries Experience in the following: battery systems, debugging, automotive systems, & design of analog circuits Layout, test, design, & build reference design boards & applications to demonstrate, emulate, & promote products Interface with field personnel & the business manager on securing design wins Provide ideas & content for data sheets, web site, & EV Kits Create reference design & evaluation kit SW and HW Write manuscript drafts needed for evaluation kit datasheet Create product specific peripheral tools & drivers Provide support towards device specific application engineering Answer questions, solve problems, educate, & debus issues for customers relating to both existing and new devices Travel occasionally when needed Develop user guides, design ideas, application notes, articles, evaluation kit manuscripts, & new product proposals for external and/or internal publications. Offer any needed support for Business Management through reviews of the latest device manuscripts Work on the product definition to contribute towards the completion of it (market studies, application diagrams, & competitive analysis) Interface with account managers, business management, & FAEs on securing design wins
Requirements: Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering A minimum of three years of board-level analog circuit design (PCB) experience, along with experience in battery system test, work, & applications Able to integrate & design functional blocks in SW & HW Experience in FPGA is a bonus Automotive systems & battery charging knowledge is a strong plus Strong verbal & written communication skills Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to directly interact with test, design, corporate, & business management executives.
