Description
Security Consultants Group, Inc. (SCG) is headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and is a mature, dynamic, and well-managed business with a strategic plan and strong management team that distinguishes us in the area of Security Services for Federal Contracts. Our primary business is to hire, train, equip, and deployArmed Security Officersto protect Federal buildings and offices. SCG has seen steady growth since it was founded in 1989 and currently has over 2,000 employees in 21 states.
Our security officers provide physical security within Federal facilities; perform roving patrol and traffic control; operate and monitor security and fire systems within the facilities; report hazardous conditions, if necessary; and respond to events of injury or illness. The security officers are also required to act as the primary security response until law enforcement assistance arrives when situations warrant.
We are looking for additional Security Officers. If you meet the minimum requirements listed below, we invite you to apply for this job.
An applicant must: · Be a U.S. citizen · Be 21 years of age · Be able to pass a drug test · Be able to pass a medical exam (based on the Federal contract standards) · Be able to pass an extensive Federal background check. · Be fluent in English · Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate. · Meetoneof the following experience/education requirements: 3 yrs. of Armed Security or Police experience within the past 5 years; or Associate’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of experience (as stated above); or 3 yrs. of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience with an Honorable discharge; or Successful completion of Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST) course; or Any reasonable combination of the above (i.e., 2 yr. of Armed Security experience, plus 1 yr. of related college coursework).
Current state armed guard license preferred.
PLEASE NOTE: The process to fill Federal Armed Security Officer positions is extensive and not quick! It may take 3-6 months from the time a person applies until they complete the process and are eligible to stand post.
