Assistant Corporate Controller – Financial Reporting and Analysis Job Description Detailed Responsibilities & Expectations Summarized below are the specific details involving the duties, responsibilities and expectations of the Assistant Controller: Reporting to the Corporate Controller, and directing a corporate accounting staff of three (3), the Assistant Corporate Controllers responsibilities include: • Assisting in the preparation of IFRS reporting • General accounting and consolidation • Fixed assets • Audit coordination with a Big 4 CPA firm • IFRS and Internal Accounting Policy compliance • Internal financial reporting • Forecast and budget preparation • Special projects at the direction of CFO and Corporate Controller Participates as a “business partner” with the CFO and Corporate Controller in long-term planning, budgeting, financial & operational analysis. Prepares projections and other analytics to support the needs of the management team. Strongly supports and guides management and helps to communicate the financial implication of decisions. Manages issues impacting taxes, audits, regulatory compliance, IFRS, etc. Helps coordinate the utilization of the Corporations’ public accounting firm and manages these related expenses. Builds and maintains a strong financial management team. Makes enlightened decisions regarding the staffs selection, promotion and development. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE OVERVIEW We face much growth, business development, operational and financial opportunities which reinforce the need to attract an extremely capable Assistant Corporate Controller. The newly selected Assistant Controller will enjoy visibility and the opportunity to support the executive management team. The successful candidate must be comfortable in a “hands-on” position and directing a small staff. He/she must strengthen the financial team and bring needed leadership while creating a team environment. Highlighted below is a profile of the business, academic and personal attributes of the candidate we seek for the Assistant Corporate Controller position. Ideally, 7 plus years of hands-on skills in most of the following disciplines are essential • internal & external reporting • corporate accounting - general ledger/consolidation • audit • tax (local, state & federal) • GAAP/IFRS/FASB/Sarbanes Oxley • financial controls • operations analysis • cost accounting - inventory accounting • AP, AR, payroll, etc. • variance analysis 5-7 years Big-4 audit experience. B.S. in accounting and CPA required. Additionally, a strong need for appropriate advanced degree, i.e., M.B.A., M.S. in accounting is highly desirable. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable and effective in making presentations.
