A publicly traded mining company in Vancouver has recently launched a search for a hands-on Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will supervise a bookkeeper and handle all daily accounting functions. In addition, the successful candidate will lead the month end close process, produce reports for management and regulatory authorities in the US and Canada. The Assistant Controller will also be responsible for the corporate records, regulatory reporting and treasury records.

Experience: The successful candidate for this role must be a designated accountant (CA, CGA, CMA) with 5 or more years hands-on experience in the Mining or Oil & Gas industry. Prior experience with Canadian and US filings is a must. You have experience with MD&A, 20F, SOX, as well as hands-on experience with payroll, preparing financial statements and HR responsibilities.
