Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID). The Assistant Vice President reports directly to the President of NTID and is a key member of the college's leadership team overseeing six directors/managers and their respective departments throughout the Finance and Operations organizational structure.
The Assistant Vice President is responsible for providing leadership regarding NTID financial and operational matters. Areas of major responsibility include: management of policies and procedures for the financial sustainability of NTID; budget preparation and monitoring; active participation in college strategic planning and implementation; oversight of facilities planning, operation, scheduling and maintenance; supervision of information technology (IT) deployment, resources, and IT policies and procedures (including Information Security); and overseeing the management of the Dyer Arts Center.
NTID, one of the eight colleges comprising RIT, is the world’s first and largest technological college serving deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. RIT is a nationally respected leader in professional and career-oriented education. It has grown to be the 12th largest private university in the United States, with branch campuses around the world. At the main campus in Rochester, New York, approximately 1200 deaf and hard-of-hearing students supported through NTID live and learn along with more than 14,000 hearing students.
RIT/NTID is a unique educational community made up of culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff, with varied language and communication abilities and preferences. The person filling this position must already possess or be committed to learning American Sign Language, as well as already possess or be willing to develop an understanding and appreciation of deaf culture and deaf community.
