Responsible for analysis, reporting and providing input to strategic business units based on market trends and opportunities. Assist in the development of merchandising strategies for specific channels, consumer and product groups that maximize our opportunity, meet our consumer needs, and support the company's overarching objectives.
Assist, and provide NA merchandising and product assortment input into all aspects of the product development process from line start to initial seasonal planning.
Input-though not limited to-should identify additional opportunities, improve product adoption from Retail, sales/customers, and insure customer/consumer needs are covered.
Prepare quarterly and seasonal merchandising reports that support future product development, sales & marketing decision-making.
Analyze market data (i.e. sell-through information and Trend reports) to provide and support Business Units strategies and identifies opportunities.
Assist in the management of the NA special make-up process for individual product lines and customer channels.
Entails preliminary planning of key opportunities and business needs, working closely with sales and product teams on additional customer needs, and overseeing process from initial concept generation to sample confirmation and communication and tracking to field on SMU request.
Update and insure accuracy of supporting data structures and databases.
Consistently review and gather needed information from market, customers, product teams, and other resources
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Industry/Functional Experience: 2+ years of retail buying or product design/development experience, experience in footwear is a plus, but not necessary
Management Experience: Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written, be organized, and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Must be able to work with others as part of cross-functional team, build consensus, and achieve results across variety of distinct groups.
