Within the engineering organization, we are seeking to fill a high profile and critical position to develop and maintain the high level design plan for the overall logical and technical IT architecture for AdWorks. The Principle Architect will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. The IT Architect will gain organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction and assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, and other Systems Architects.
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company's existing IT architecture/infrastructure and technology portfolio.
Develop and manage an infrastructure and capacity plan.
Develop, document, communicate and enforce a technology standards policy.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
Develop, document, make recommendations and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
Design, develop and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Review new and existing IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years' experience in the IT Infrastructure field
High level of proficiency in basic computer skills with a passion for technology
A commitment to continuing education to strengthen skills and broaden expertise
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
Dedicated to achieving project schedules and milestones
Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Self starter able to work with minimal supervision
Special Skills/Qualifications:
UML and architecture design tools Rational Rose, Together Control Center, and Structure Builder.
Software design methodologies - Agile XP
Database design tools Oracle Designer, SDesigner, and ERWin
RDBMS Oracle and IBM DB2, OLTP/OLAP and data warehousing.
C, C , Java, PowerBuilder, EJB, SQL, JSP, XML
Web Services (SOAP) - .NET web services and Apache AXIS.
Application server: BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, and JBoss.
Enterprise system - Oracle Financial, SAP ERP, Siebel CRM, Metaphase PLM.
