Description
Lead Project Manager, Market Launch
This group will be launching AT&T's connected home services including Home Security, Home Monitoring, Home Automation & Control, Home Healthcare, Personal Energy Management and other applications.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing complex projects within a broad scope program associated with building a new business with technical & operational capabilities to support delivery a new category of products and services.
Provides leadership and direction for teams of internal and external people responsible of various project related activities. Defines critical activities, decisions, dependencies, deliverables, and milestones associated with project execution. Establishes coordinated schedules for completion of various activities and clearly defines accountability for execution.
Collaborates with project managers for related projects associated with the initiative to identify cross project dependencies and assure alignment of schedules. Assures effective communication with the project team and between the project team and other project teams associated with the initiative.
Closely monitors activity progress and identifies issues that have potential to jeopardize timely and efficient execution of the project. Identifies risks to project execution resulting from external factors and defines risk mitigation actions required.
Closely monitors project to assure resources are sufficient to successfully achieve project objectives and initiates actions to adjust resource levels when changes in project scope or approach indicate resources required are not appropriate.
Maintains detailed project schedules as project proceeds and makes adjustments as needed to reflect activity progress and assure timing of key deliverables and milestones meets the objectives of the initiative of which the project is a part.
Establishes and maintains project documentation including schedules, presentations, publications, references, status reports and other similar documents used and produced by the project team. Assures security of project documentation and team member compliance of with Non Disclosure Agreements.
Prepares and presents periodic status reports summarizing project accomplishments, near term plans, risks, issues, and resource position. Coordinates closely with senior leaders of operating functions to assure alignment with business plans and ongoing activities including.
Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing a group of projects associated with launch of business operations in new geographic markets. Projects include all activities associated with establishing sales, installation and customer care capabilities to support operation in local markets. These projects include: market analysis, facility acquisition, logistics planning, retail store configuration, motor vehicle acquisition, inventory initialization, local operations staffing, operations force training, system configuration and testing, market entry communications, and other activities associated with assuring readiness for a successful market launch
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
· Five years experience in the telecommunications industry
· Three years of project management experience relating to operations and logistics activities.
· Some experience using Microsoft Project for project scheduling and project management functions
· Ability to work independently with little direction.
· Excellent writing and presentation skills.
· Proven success in leading teams without direct reporting lines.
· Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with project team members and stakeholders.
· Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain positive attitudes within the team while executing complex activities under tight time constraints.
· Familiarity with the full scope of operating functions including: marketing, sales, installation, customer care, and supply chain operations
· Familiarity with AT&T products, services, organization structure and business processes.
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or Professional Project Management Certification
· Professional Project Manager certification
· High proficiency using Microsoft Project for project scheduling and project management functions
· Familiarity with Home security, home automation and home control products and services
