Job Description:

The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Business Programmer/Analyst - DataFlo Emphasis. If you are looking for an opportunity to use your programming experience, then this position is for you!

* Systems analysis and design together with data analysis and design.
* Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain SEL Business Systems.
* Make software recommendations to management.
* Devise or modify procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
* Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
* Provide project management, task leadership and training for project team members.
* Stay abreast of industry developments appropriate to computer services.
* Follow and improve Information Services area lifications:
* Four year MIS degree or equivalent of education and relevant experience
* Experience with software analysis and selection
* Experience with structured programming, design and relational databases
* Experience in designing and programming in a networked database environment
* Working knowledge of Windows and Unix
* Strong writing, speaking, documentation and training skills
* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting DataFlo
* SQL based application and database design and programming
* UniData Database experience
* UniBasic/Preview programming experience
