Amazon Web Services is looking for a motivated, quantitatively-minded person to join the team as a Capacity Analyst. The candidate will be responsible for developing and communicating capacity analytics for the Company s global data center and network infrastructure, supporting Senior Business Management in the development and implementation of medium- and long-term capacity strategies, and developing close coordination with internal customers generating the demand for infrastructure capacity. Responsibilities: - Update, validate, and improve capacity models with the latest internal information to ensure accurate reporting. - Coordinate the establishment of corporate goals and ensure progress is accurately tracked. - Communicate and explain the capacity models and recommendations to senior management. - Support the capacity forecasting, budgeting, and reporting efforts for operating expense, capital, and resource allocation. - Deliver on financial and infrastructure plans as agreed upon by management. Anticipate major changes early and ensure that plans keep up to date with business reality. - Develop cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders to improve the integration of Datacenter Capacity Planning into the overall business planning effort. Basic Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in statistics, business, finance, engineering, or a related field. - 3+ years of capacity planning, production planning, operations planning, or inventory planning experience. - Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving. - Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet tools and models. Preferred Qualifications: - MBA or advanced degree in economics, statistics, operations research, mathematics or other quantitative disciplines. - Direct experience in capacity planning. - Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
