Category Senior Manager - Sourcing, IT
Position will collaborate with Amgen's business, IT, Legal and other Strategic sourcing teams to develop and implement sourcing strategies for Amgen's IT spend. This position will be responsible for analyzing spend and market data to develop sourcing strategies that are aligned with the goals and objectives of the business and help drive cost efficiencies. This position will also be responsible for leading and facilitating the development of business requirements, translating these needs into actionable sourcing projects and leading the subsequent supplier selection process.
Applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge, financial and business acumen and subject matter expertise to deliver sourcing objectives on time and within budget.
Employing ""Category Management"", project management and change management techniques to effectively deliver sourcing initiative objectives.
Leading category management process, including: - Developing category strategy with business partners, - Conducting opportunity analysis, make/buy analysis, - Performing data analysis, - Gathering requirements, - Developing and executing RFx, - Developing and implementing a sourcing strategy, - Negotiating contracts, - Developing service level agreements and metrics, - Implementing and supporting ongoing supplier governance.

Preferred Qualifications MBA
5 or more years experience in a complex business environment; 3 or more years of Strategic Sourcing or equivalent experience; 2 years of IT experience.
Prior experience managing, and/or creating contracts for, large outsourced IS programs
Prior experience supporting an IS organization.
Category experience in one or more areas including:
IT Outsourcing IT Services
In-depth knowledge of the principles, methods and practices as they relate to strategic sourcing, project management and/or change management
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, stakeholder and change management capabilities in a global environment.
Experienced in the management of strategic supplier partnerships and relevant tools.
Ability to adopt a consultative approach while applying the principles of strategic sourcing Solid influencing skills to reach tangible, quantifiable results with or without direct authority Proven ability to work effectively in a global, fluid, interactive, matrix environment Strong financial background and financial acumen (degrees or certifications).
Demonstrated success in developing relationships up through the executive management level.
