Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, candidates must have:
Board Certification in Psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or clearly equivalent certifying body; and
A minimum of seven years of extensive professional experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness (two years must have been in a position comparable to a Clinical Chief of Service in the New York State Office of Mental Health); and
A valid license to practice medicine in New York State or a New York State limited permit and licensure in another state or Canada; and
Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining a current New York State license or limited permit to practice medicine, and maintaining eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.
Experience in a children's mental health treatment program is preferred.

Duties DescriptionThe Clinical Director serves as the Chief Medical Officer at WNYCPC and is responsible for the administration, oversight, evaluation and continuous improvement of all psychiatric, medical and medical/ancillary services provided by psychiatric center staff and consultants. He/she is also the primary link to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training program at the University of Buffalo of Medicine; WNYCPC serves as a primary site for residency training for this program. The Clinical Director supervises the credentialing and privileging process, and has primary responsibility for the development, updating and implementation of facility-wide clinical policies and procedures and together with the other members of the facility's Executive Cabinet, ensures that WNYCPC is in compliance with all Office of Mental Health (OMH), Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other external accrediting bodies' standards, rules and regulations. Ultimately, the Clinical Director ensures that the clinical mission of the facility is successfully aligned with the overall mission of OMH to promote the mental health and well-being of all New Yorkers so that they can reach their ultimate goal of hope and recovery.
Additional CommentsWestern New York Children's Psychiatric Center (WNYCPC), a Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital exclusively for children and adolescents located in West Seneca, New York, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Clinical Director, Psychiatric Center. WNYCPC provides an intensive, intermediate, family-centered inpatient psychiatric treatment program which enables children to return to their families with a minimum of disruption to the child's ties to home and community. In addition to its inpatient programs, the facility has a variety of outpatient services including Day Treatment, Clinic Treatment, Intensive Case Management and Mobile Mental Health Consultation Services. These programs are integrated with inpatient services, enabling WNYCPC to provide a full continuum of care to the children it serves. WNYCPC serves children and adolescents in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming Counties.
