The Compliance & Controls Specialist is responsible for the execution of work pertaining to business process controls, systems integrity and compliance requirements for Financial Business Management (FBM) processes across phases of the project. The Compliance & Controls Specialist will identify the compliance requirements for FBM, provide training on the proper controls and compliance requirements, and provides the first line of defense for FBM control and compliance questions.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited too:
* Manage the design and implementation of the controls environment using a risk-based approach * Ensure that assigned system controls are adequately provided (e.g., process and access controls) * Ensure adherence to process and system integrity controls and standards * Ensure timely issue identification, resolution and appropriate escalation * Monitor, quality review, and approve team deliverables * Liaise with Internal and External Auditors and facilitate responses to observations
Qualifications
Education Minimum Requirement:
* Bachelors Degree. Concentration in appropriate scientific, engineering or legal field preferred.
Required Experience and Skills:
* Minimum 4 years experience in SOX and security controls and/or auditing. * SAP experience required.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
* Proven ability to work within a team environment. * Knowledge of legislation or other external regulations, corporate policy and other requirements that affect FBM processes and audits. Knowledge of security, business process controls, audit and control tools, techniques and standards. * Working knowledge of project planning, management and control methods and tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at multiple levels within the organization. * Detailed understanding of 3 or more of the following FBM processes, inherent risk, controls and security considerations preferred:
* General Ledger and Financial Closing * Fixed Asset Accounting * Tax Accounting * Financial Consolidation * Planning * Cost Management * Management Reporting * Investment Management, Capital Appropriations * Project Systems, Internal Orders * Human Resources Mini Master
