As a member of the Launch Control System development team, this individual will be responsible for UNIX Operating System development, loading and documentation of servers and elements of the Launch Control System. Individual is responsible for product systems developed for the LCS and used in the development of supporting non-LCS systems. This position requires the use of UNIX (AIX and Solaris), Linux and Windows operating systems and hardware, such as large servers, desktop workstations, laptops and other portable devices and peripherals. Individual will also use applications and systems software for the various operating systems. Primary duties will be server operating system installation, configuration, management and securing of system hardware and software. Responsibilities will also include OS image development, deployment and restoration. Qualifications:
Required skills include experience with AIX, IBM Network Installation Manager, some Linux and VM operating systems. OS image installation and documentation of installed configurations required. Experience building installable operating system images with different tools and installation over a network desired. Experience with LDAP interfaces between UNIX and Windows a plus. Knowledge of NASA or US government security policies considered a plus. Minimum of 5 years experience and BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
