Our client, a leader in the manufacture of construction materials industry located in central GTA has a current opening for a Controller. Reporting to the General Manager in Canada and the Corporate Controller in the United States you will be responsible for managing a small team that oversees all financial and management accounting for the Canadian operation. Your responsibilities will include ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end closes are accurate and timely. As Controller you will analyze and effectively communicate the financial performance of the division to corporate. Bank activities fall under your responsibility. As the lead finance person in Canada you will interact with senior management on regular basis to ensure proper financial management and reporting. The Controller will implement and execute proper internal controls to ensure compliance with company-wide policies and procedures. You will work closely with the business on budget creation and analysis. As Controller you are the key contact for all internal and external financial audits as well as tax filings.

Experience: To qualify for this Controller position, you must be a designated accounting professional CA, CMA, or CGA with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a plant controller or assistant controller in a small to medium sized manufacturing company where they are very hands on in preparing the financial and management accounting information. Strong computer skills especially MS Office are a must. Equally important excellent time management skills are critical to be successful in this role. Our client is looking to meet those high energy individuals with excellent communication skills as this is the key finance person in Canada.
