Corporate Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Senior Accountant. The senior accountant will report to the Manager of Financial Accounting and is responsible for the following accounting/reporting activities:
- Review Corporate and certain Sector Foreign Entity US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Prepare Environmental Reserves and Recoverable Environmental Assets Analyses and related journal entries, including current vs long-term classifications.
- Coordinate the Accounting for Sector Entity Foreign Dividend Payments and Re-Capitalizations.
- Quarterly Balance Sheet Analytics.
- Coordinate and record Corporate Financial Reporting department's yearly consolidated Equity/Earnings Rollforward entries.
- Prepare 10-Q and 10-K stock footnote
- Perform the EPS and dilutive share calculation
- Prepare account reconciliations related to stock based compensation, equity, environmental, and legal accounts.
He/she will also assist with related corporate office inputs into the operating and strategic plans as well as preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages for corporate entities. He/she may be required to perform financial analysis and /or technical research as required.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
• Minimum 4 years experience with Big 4 public accounting (E&Y, Deloitte, KPMG or PwC). Candidates with minimum of 6 years experience with mostly Aerospace and/or Defense will also be considered.
• An equivalent combination of education, certification may be considered in lieu of years experience.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA (with Big 4 experience)
Masters in related discipline
Aerospace and/or Defense experience
