Job Summary:



The Custodial Services Supervisor directs the custodial services staff members in the daily operations in order to maintain the facility in a clean and orderly condition.  This position will be responsible for personnel coaching and disciplining, quality control, monitoring of supply and equiment usage, maintaining a safe work environment and perfroming special project work.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Assists Director by supervising 2nd shift custodial operations of the school system.



Plans staff assignments, order supplies and control inventory.



Develops duty lists for employees and inspect work to ensure proper completion.



Assists in goal setting for the custodial department and recommend work improvements.



Performs quality assurance inspections and audits.



Assists Director in training and development of staff.



Takes action to correct deficient employee performance.



Performs hands-on cleaning tasks to include but not limited to buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, general cleaning, stocking and minor equipment maintenance.



Resolves client complaints.



Attends various training sessions.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION



High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.  Five years supervisory experience in K-12 school operations desired.  Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and convey same to staff verbally and in written format.  Black Seal required.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



1.  Ability to teach others how to operate cleaning equipment.

3.  Strong service/quality attitude.

4.  Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.

5.  Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS



1.  Stand, walk, climb for extended periods.

2.  Requires bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc.

3.  Ability to lift 20-25 pounds.

4.  Ability to work extended hours when necessary.

5.  Limited exposure to dust, heat and noise.
