POSITION TITLE: Department Manager(Mechanical)
The purpose of the Department Manager (Mechanical) position is to provide operational direction to various programs and personnel with in the Fullerton lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: ? Responsible for ensuring departmental revenue and goals are met ? Develop and manage a variety of larger product test programs primarily servicing Mechanical ? Develop program plans and bids ? Manage medium and large Mechanical projects at the Fullerton facility ? High degree of Customer interface including problem solving and conflict resolution. ? Provide hands on, effective supervision of Technicians and Engineers. ? Promote NTS values and cultures to all customer and employees ? Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ? Must possess common sense ? Minimum of 5 years working in a lab environment ? Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role ? Working knowledge of multiple test areas and technical disciplines including electrical mechanical, thermal and engineering services. ? Familiarity with test and operation of electrical equipment and instrumentation and control devices such as recorders, gauges, indicators, transmitters, breakers, relays, switches, transformers, motor control centers ? Ability to individualize communication skills to meet the situation ? Prior experience in running large programs with complex customer schedules and interfaces a must ? Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment are essential ? Must possess the ability to create and promote a team environment ? Display a sense of urgency in completing projects ? Strong organizational and analytical skills ? Knowledge and experience with data acquisition systems ? Oversee program schedules and be able to forecast and resource requirements on assigned programs ? Support ongoing business development efforts

- General Office Environment/ General Lab Enviornment - Some travel may be required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
