The Project Management Organization (PMO) is responsible for large Program and Project Management at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) site. This position is responsible for the leadership of the PMO team at ARI. This includes leadership of multi-faceted, cross-functional and global projects. The successful candidate will • Facilitate the site project governance process to ensure appropriate portfolio management including resourcing and prioritization • Ensure appropriate project controls and analytics including financial tracking, standardized tools, reporting, etc. • Oversee activities of all project support roles • Provide strategic leadership to the PMO including initiation and oversight of projects to improve Operations activities • Apply influence and negotiation skills to drive business results • Proactively identifies and resolve cross-project issues Duties include but are not limited to: • Leading and developing project management staff • Development of a standardized, sustained and compliant project management delivery model • Primary interface with Global Operation Teams (GOTs), Global Process Engineering (GPE), Operations Strategic Planning (OSP) and various Global Networks • Responsible for site governance, portfolio management and project reporting
Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree and 4 years of directly related experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years of directly related years
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of directly related experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications • BS degree in Engineering, Life Science or Business required • 10 years leadership experience in an operational environment • 8 years experience in project management with direct experience managing cross functional projects in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry • MBA strongly preferred • Demonstrated ability to assess and execute strategic initiatives • 5 years commercialization experience • Project management Professional (PMP) certification • Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix environment
