The Mission Engineering Business Unit (MEBU) of TASC is looking for a Director of Technology and Strategy who will report directly to the MEBU Vice President, . This position will be in Chantilly VA. The MEBU provides mission engineering, systems engineering, cyber security engineering, studies and analyses, acquisition management and financial services to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Department of Defense (DoD). MEBU has over 1800 employees working in locations across Northern Virginia as well Tidewater Area, VA, Omaha, NE, Colorado, Springs, CO, Albuquerque, NM, Huntsville, AL, Southern California, and Germany.
The Director of Technology and Strategy for the Mission Engineering Business Unit will be responsible for establishing an integrated technology strategy aimed at keeping our team on the forefront of change, enhancing our technical skill base, and meeting critical customers' needs. The MEBU is a key provider of Mission Critical Services to Department of Defense and Intelligence community leading TASC in such areas as: Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Services / Studies and Analysis Services / Mission Engineering and Mission Assurance Services / 24/7 Intel Mission Operations / Cyber Security Engineering / Acquisition Management Services / Financial Management Services. Current customers include the Director of National Intelligence, Office of the Secretary of Defense, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, The Joint Staff, Combatant Commands and Defense Agencies (Missile Defense Agency and Defense Information Systems Agency). MEBU is entrusted by our customers with responsibilities critical to the defense and protection of our Nation. The Director Of technology and Strategy will ensure that we continue to meet our customers' high expectations and mission needs today and in the future.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in leading technology and strategy across a business portfolio that includes a variety of disciplines and technologies. The Technology Director will provide technical leadership across program pursuits and proposal efforts to ensure the proposed solutions are efficient, affordable, and what the customer requires as well as support the corporate IRAD program selection, definition, and development.

This individual will represent MEBU in all interfaces with the TASC Chief Technology Officer functions, including the Technology Forum and the IRAD selection and evaluation process. The successful candidate must gain working-level understanding of the technologies and capabilities in each of the four Operating Units that make up the MEBU. The successful candidate will support the Operating Units (OUs) in achieving their technical and capability development objectives. This role also plays a vital role in establishing TASC as a technology thought leader with customers and the technical community. The position requires extensive experience marketing technical capabilities to address complex customer requirements and a successful track record of defining solutions to address emerging requirements. The Technology Director will analyze new technologies and develop competitive analyses.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
The individual will have proven leadership skills, speaking skills, broad based technology background, and the vision and business agility to shape MEBUs response to changing market conditions and emerging opportunities. The candidate must bring hands-on experience in full lifecycle implementation and maintenance; understanding of customer's technology implementation, objectives, and vision; and proven performance for aligning MEBU's and customer's business goals with technical solutions by utilizing industry best practices and standards.
A BS/BA, MS preferred, in engineering, science or highly technical related field with 10 years experience in one or more of technology planning, technology research and development, strategic planning, solutions development, technical program management, and business development. Broad technical expertise is preferred with focus and experience in following areas: Engineering and Analysis Services, Mission Assurance, Cybersecurity, Acquisition Services. A track record of thought leadership in a technology domain as evidenced by professional R&D society recognition or participation in select boards/panels would be a discriminator for the successful candidate. Published papers are highly desired. This includes direct responsibility for the management of the MEBU integrated technology strategy including identification of strategic technology areas, Internal Research and Development (RIAD), Contract R&D(CRAD), Cooperative R&D Agreements (CRADA), and otehr external engagements with universities, technology boards and consortiums. The Director will work with the TASC CTO to coordinate MEBU Technology efforts with the wider TASC efforts. As part of an integrated strategy, this role also includes intellectual property management and technology capability assessment within and external to TASC. An advanced degree is preferred. At least five years of the experience must be in managing comparable activities, including but not limited to the following:
1) Proven track record of identifying, promoting and articulating technical solutions which contribute to business growth
2) Proven track record of identifying new technology markets and capitalizing on opportunities within existing markets
3) Experience with supporting operations management and strategic planning and execution
4) Experience supporting major capture and proposal efforts in key/lead roles for developing offering approach that include technologies, processes, COTS, and people
5) Experienced at meeting with customers to derive customer requirements and develop and proffer appropriate solutions
6) Demonstrated significant personal success, business acumen, unquestioned integrity, and exceptional communication and leadership skills throughout his/her career
7) Successful track record of leading high-performance teams with a particular focus on marketing capabilities and successfully capturing business
8) Ability to clearly articulate goals and priorities and exhibit a high level of energy and drive to achieve them
