Financial Reporting and Analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the preparation of external financial reporting statements, e.g. quarterly report to SEC – Form 10Q, annual report to SEC – Form 10K, and other SEC filings requiring financial statement information.
Perform detailed first-level review of quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and analytical review.
Assist the Investor Relations Department in the preparation of the quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis including coordination with Legal.
Coordinate quarterly and annual updates to financial reporting checklists for Corporate Accounting and key reporting locations worldwide. Coordinate with Operations, Corporate Accounting, Tax and Treasury on an ongoing basis regarding significant accounting transactions to allow for adequate review of reporting and disclosure implications.
Financial Reporting and Accounting Research On an on-going basis, review new and emerging accounting standards and interpret, and communicate business impact of these changing standards on the external financial statement and disclosures. Assess the impact to Ferro and develop position paper for new GAAP pronouncements within 30 days of issuance of new pronouncements.
Coordinate with Accounting Operations and the Corporate Tax Department to develop and execute implementation plans for new GAAP pronouncements where applicable. Maintain current knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and actively incorporate into financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
Work with Financial Planning to ensure that budget impacts of changing accounting standards are identified and communicated to operating managers. Ensure that quarterly financial statements incorporate the impact of all relevant changes in accounting standards. Document internal processes and accounting issues. Participate in special projects designed to evaluate alternative accounting treatment of various contracts or business activities. Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS in Finance, Accounting or other business discipline; CPA.
8-10 years of progressively responsible positions in Finance. Thorough knowledge of GAAP. Minimum of 3 years of experience with external SEC and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Understanding of the principles and issues related to cross-divisional and corporatewide systems in the consolidation of global business results. Experience in a global manufacturing environment required.
Strong knowledge of Hyperion reporting software. Working knowledge of SAP and Sarbanes-Oxley controls environment. Experience with a multi-national, multi-facility publicly-held firm required. Experience with established financial reporting systems and their capabilities.
Must have Highly effective oral and written capabilities. Must be able to prepare and deliver professional presentations with clarity. Must be able to work and collaborate across functions, cultures and up and down the organizational hierarchy. Ability to grasp operating concepts of multi-business, multi-national organizations
