The HR Director will direct the HR practices and strategies in support of the Central region of Razorfish. Based in Chicago, this position will lead the HR team and function for the Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin offices.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:

HR LEADERSHIP:
* Lead all daily HR operations to support the ~500 employees in the Central region.
* Manage a team of 7 HR and recruiting professionals.
* Serve as a member of the Central region leadership team; serve as the primary HR business partner to the president of the region and his direct reports.
* Research and recommend progressive human resource programs that will enhance overall organizational effectiveness and enhance the ability of the company and the region to meet its strategic goals.
* Serve as member of the Global Razorfish HR leadership team. Help create and drive strategies and programs that support the company's ability to retain and attract talent.
* Work with colleagues in the global HR shared services organization (compensation, benefits, HRIS, analytics, etc.) to assure good customer-supplier alignment with field needs and on ongoing process/service improvement initiatives.
* Manage the recruiting team to meet or exceed annual recruiting targets of time-to-fill, hires per recruiter, cost per hire, and other key indicators of efficiency and effectiveness.
* Work with regional trainer and national OD director to roll out both national and local training and development programs that drive employee productivity, engagement, and retention.
* Resolve employee relations issues and help keep the work environment free from discrimination, harassment.
* Ensure policies, practices and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner and in accordance with all applicable local, state and/or federal laws.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

* 10-15 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, with at least 5 at the senior manager/director level.
* Proven track record within multiple HR disciplines: employee relations, training and development, and recruiting experience are most critical.
* Experience leading an HR team, including professionals at a manager level. Experience managing teams in remote locations a plus.
* Experience working in an entrepreneurial culture as well as a larger, established company is desired.
* Deep knowledge of best practices from past employers, professional networks, continuing education. Strong preference for past experience with a best-in-class employer with strong, innovative HR practices.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
* Ability to stand firm and remain committed when necessary and facilitate understanding when difficult or adverse decisions must be addressed or made.
* Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment - with minimal daily oversight.
* Experience working in a professional services firm, advertising agency, new media, or high tech service field is preferred.
* A bachelor's degree in business, HR or a related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education is required. A Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field a plus. HR certification (PHR or SPHR) is strongly desired.

Global VP of HR, with strong dotted line to Regional President.
