Summary: The Director of Accounting will assist with all aspects of accounting related activities for the strategic business unit to ensure the accurate and timely publication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reports, design and effectiveness of internal controls, ensure accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Director of Accounting will apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze the financial information and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

· Review corporate month end closing process to include journal entries, revenue recognition, indirect rate calculations, and consolidated financial statement preparation, allocation bases
· Assists the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis in activities of tax, compliance, financial reporting, general accounting (incl general ledger), balance sheet, cash flow projections, budget preparation
· Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets and generate various month end and annual financial reports as required
· Prepare and analyze the SBU and subsidiaries' general ledger account reconciliations
· Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
· Update unbilled receivables schedules and provide weekly analyses
· Review fixed assets and depreciation schedules
· Maintains the SBU's CASB Disclosure Statement and ensures compliance with Government regulations (CAS, FAR)
· Support external and Government audits, as needed
· Provides analysis of subsidiary financial results to determine cause of variances and probable results of proposed operational decisions
· Knowledge and experience preparing corporate cash flow forecasting
· Maintain appropriate accounting records and documentation
· Identify problems and work to resolve them and put controls in place to prevent future problems
· Conduct audits and analysis of indirect costs, and review practices and procedures, ensuring charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner
· Adhere to and support all accounting and finance control procedures (in sync w/Corp QMS)
· Assist VP of Financial Planning & Analysis on special projects as required
· Assists in evaluation of financial system upgrades/enhancements
· Monitor and reports B&P Expenses on a monthly basis
· Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Supervision: This position may have supervisory responsibilities of one or more employees on the accounting staff.

Education and/or Experience: * A BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or related field. * 15 years of experience with a background working within both government contract accounting and corporate systems. * Must have working knowledge of accounting systems/programs; Cost Point a plus. Ideal candidate will have computer skills such as Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time and Expense, IBM Cognos, Impromptu, ReportNet, ADP Payforce, Quickbooks and manufacturing system, e.g., MRP or TCM * Must have experience in GL, AP and AR with hands on experience in GL accounting
Computer Skills: Must have advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA preferred
