| Ashland University Director of Development Ashland University seeks Director of Development to develop long-term philanthropic relationship with alumni, parents, friends, foundations, corporations and organizations and develop and implement strategies to move targeted portfolio of prospects through the development cycle. Bachelor's degree required, minimum of three years experience in annual giving or major gift giving management. Position Description: This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Development, and performs the following duties: * Develop long-term philanthropic relationship with alumni, parents, friends, foundations, corporations, organizations, etc. * Develop and implement strategies to move a targeted portfolio of prospects through the development cycle in support of Ashland University. * Manage up to 200 prospects with face-to-face visits with up to 100 prospects and donors each year. The ability to travel is a requirement. * Work closely with other Development officers and associates in a team atmosphere. * Develop and manage support of endowments and endowed scholarships for the University. * Develop and manage lifetime and annual giving Honor Clubs. * Organize and support special events such as Founders Dinner, Endowed Scholarship Luncheon, Accent on Women Program, etc. * Work closely with the Development Departments from the Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs and the Ashland Theological Seminary. * May perform related duties as assigned. Special qualifications required: * Bachelor's degree required, minimum of three years experience in annual giving or major gift giving management. * Working knowledge of planned giving fundamentals and prior campaign experience are preferred. * Proven track record of soliciting and securing gifts and working effectively with volunteers. * Maintain confidentiality. * Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
