We are seeking a Director of Global Purchasing to work with senior management in the formulation of a clear purchasing and sourcing strategy, and drive strategic purchasing and forecasting initiatives. This person will work across various business units to develop purchasing policies and procedures to support an international, fast-paced, growing organization. The Director of Global Materials will negotiate with vendors, improve sourcing and optimize supply chains through prudent application of technical purchasing skills. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and work out of our Plano or Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate prices, contracts, availability, delivery schedules, choose vendors and determine methods of procurement


• Coordinate with counterparts in other functional areas (Sales, Engineering, etc.) to ensure accurate management of inventory forecasting and worldwide purchases


• Evaluate performance of vendors and recommend contract renewals or new Requests for Proposals/Quotations


• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of purchasing operations

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or relevant field


• 7+ years experience in global purchase planning and forecasting with a technology company (telecom & SaaS are plusses)


• Strong working knowledge of and proven hands-on experience in inventory and purchase planning, forecasting, price and contract negotiations


• Strong negotiating skills with demonstrated experience leading complex supplier negotiations with significant cost savings


• NetSuite systems experience preferred


• Sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and ability to work unsupervised


• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required


• Self motivated, high energy with demonstrated ability to lead in a matrix-management environment


• Strong analytical skills (data analysis, reporting, etc.)
