Director of Human Resources
McKonly and Asbury, LLP, a Certified Public Accounting Firm with offices in Camp Hill, Lancaster, and Allentown, PA, is assisting an international manufacturing client located in the Central Pennsylvania area who is in search of aDirector of Human Resources.
The Director of Human Resources provides leadership and direction for the overall provision of human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company. This includes recruiting and staffing, performance management and improvement systems, training and employee development, organization development, payroll, benefits, compensation, workers' compensation, employee safety and wellness.
Essential duties and functions: * Formulates and recommends human resources policies and objectives for the entire company to support the development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance * Ongoing study of all policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments * Working knowledge of federal employment laws including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, IRCA, and Title VII * Establishes standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures, creates sourcing pipelines to identify and attract qualified candidates * Coordinate the administration and negotiation of union contracts * Establishes the company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversees the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and compensation reviews and adjustments * Conducts competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain staff * Monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment * Continually advise and informed senior management of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management level Required Skills: * Exceptional interpersonal, leadership & coaching skills communication and presentation skills * Evidence of a high regard for confidentiality; must have the ability to keep information confidential * Global Perspective –ability to work across cultures, demonstrates global thinking in planning & decisions * Proficient partnering with internal business leaders to drive company strategies and interact effectively with the Board of Directors * Demonstrated ability to get things done with a focus on driving business results * Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to deliver presentations in both small group and large group environments * Evidence ability to write reports, recommendations, proposals and other documents for executive business management * Maintains polished presentation skills for communicating critical concepts and is able to adapt in order to meet the needs of a broad class of audiences * Demonstrated ability to assess multiple courses of action as well as recommend/select the most effective approach for the enterprise * Demonstrated Ability to effectively assess, attract and develop talent for respective function and for the organization * Creates opportunities & stretch assignments for others, scans organization to identify less known high potentials, actively sponsors promising high potential talent by providing mentoring & career support, able to size up people, judge talent, and project what they are likely to do across a variety of situations. * Demonstrated proven ability to link HR strategy to business goals Required Experience: BS degree with course work in business, human resources, or related field, and 8 + years of progressively responsible Human Resources experienceis required. Master’s Degree in Business Management is preferred. Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning and development, employee relations, safety, training and preventive labor relations is preferred. This position will report to the Vice President & CFO.
