We are looking for a top performing Director of Human Resources to manage a team of HR Business Partners that act as strategic partners to business lines by embedding corporate HR strategy and providing professional HR guidance to internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business. The position reports directly to the EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer and will be based out of our Tacoma HQ.
PRIMARY RESPONIBILITIES * Contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes * Support managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy, including retention and succession planning. * Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda * Help business unit leaders to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards * Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes * Monitors and reports on organizational climate and client group trends through turnover and exit interviews. Monitors work unit performance effectiveness and individual performance and effectiveness trends. * Responsible for compensation program design, maintenance and reform, which are market competitive and internally equitable to enhance recruitment and retention of employees * Develops and coordinates performance management and employee development programs * Provide expert advice and coaching to employees when appropriate * Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives * Oversee the “new hire experience” – ensuring that new associates’ onboarding is thoughtfully planned and executed. * Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement * Act as a liaison between business lines and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs * Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business; implement appropriate employee training and manage its delivery * Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends * Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization * Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives * Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business administration or related field. Graduate degree and HR certifications desired. * 10+ years experience in HR and/or business management, including 5+ years experience leading an HR team or function * In-depth experience in consulting and working with senior leaders in the design, development, and execution of human resources strategies and initiatives, including change management, development, staffing, and succession planning, and performance management * Leadership and management skills managing a human resources team with multi-functional generalist accountabilities in the areas of staffing, employee relations, learning and organizational development * Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people * Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and change management processes in a high-growth environment * Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Employment Laws * Experience with oversight of work-place investigations and skilled in conflict resolution * Experience with multi-state operations and ability to partner with fast paced, sales-driven field operations * High level of professionalism, and ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and compassion * Ability to handle issues involving sensitivity, confidentiality and legal exposure * High sense of urgency, confident assertive style, and consultative approach to influencing change * Strong team leadership, including coaching, mentoring and counseling * Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently, and meet deadlines under pressure * Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population * Proficient with Microsoft Suite, HRIS metrics, and other relevant software applications * Willingness to travel up to 20% TrueBlue employs 2500 professionals and provides a competitive compensation package including: Company-matching 401(k); Employee Stock Purchase Program; on-site Fitness Center; Tuition Reimbursement; and comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision insurance.
