A leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals located in Baton Rouge, LA, looking for a Mercury Control R&D Director/Manager to develop a complete line of new environmental products.
Responsibilities:
-> Direct research and product support team of 5 to 8 people focused on the mercury control market
-> Use strong analytical skills, inventiveness and technical knowledge to effectively drive creative, solution-based efforts to build new market
-> Drive alignment of work processes to support new environmental product line through technical expertise, particular business and functional strategies
-> Implement R&D efforts and initiative to improve current sorbet materials technologies
-> Provide strategic approach to utilizing wet scrubbers for emissions initiatives
Requirements:
-> BS, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering (or similar)
-> Thorough understanding of Flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) Chemistry and operations
-> Industrial project management experience
-> Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and drive market development for materials science and R&D
-> Previous materials science background
-> Power plant experience, PREFFERED
