As a key leader within Emulex based out of our Costa Mesa, CA headquarters, you will own technical product support in its entirety. You will inherit highly functioning technical support and applications engineering groups that support end customers and OEM partners for our industry leading converged networking solutions - which include storage adapters, network interface cards, encrypting adapters, controller chips, server management chips, embedded bridges, switches and routers, and connectivity management software. Prior experience managing a support function for similar products, including managing an applications engineering group that supports OEM customers, and an overall technical understanding of storage, server, and networking solutions will be key to your success as you pick up these responsibilities. In addition to streamlining our existing services, youll also be responsible for building out an enterprise software support function and implementing 24x7 support operations. As we roll out new software initiatives, you will help define advanced support packages to be sold as value added services (including working with sales to define contract terms) and hiring additional team members to provide diversified support. Your previous experience managing the roll out of a software support function and proven success with the ongoing management of this type of revenue generating group (which includes an understanding software revenue recognition), will make you a great fit. Your polished communication skills, excellent work ethic, and ability to build rapport with clients will be important as well as you act as an executive escalation point for hot issues.
