SUMMARY
Professional Engineer is responsible for long range and short range planning, and overall operations for all of the utility operations at Ft Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Georgia. Provides supervision to stationary engineers, plant operators, and mechanics with leadership and expertise to support the installations in all types of operations, maintenance, and repair activities for the central heating plants, outlying plants, and other heating and cooling activities. Responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Develop, implement and maintains programs and procedures for managing all utility operation for both sites
· Responsible for the compliance with regulatory bodies associated with central energy plants, water/wastewater treatment plants and associated programs
· Supervises and supports with technical guidance, material support and assistance the operations, maintenance, and repair functions as follows: Plan, schedules, and operates, maintains, repairs, controls and record readings for all boiler and chiller systems
· Responsible for all reports on the operations of the systems for which he/she has responsibility including production, consumption of fuels, water treatment, water testing, and all other required CDRL reports
· Plan, schedules, and oversees work of the heating plant and system shop employees, including the operations, maintenance, and repair of distribution systems to ensure smooth and continuous operations
· Performs operational checks and services, schedules PM and boiler inspections and overhaul.
· Responsible for preparing the boilers and chillers for state inspection and certification
· Other duties as otherwise assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education requirements for the Professional Engineer will consist of a degree from an accredited 4 year program in Engineering with a Professional Engineering license or Certified Plant Engineer with at least five years of successful experience as a supervisor or lead of a large central energy plant. Preferred to have experience with wood chip boilers and gas boilers. An ideal candidate has knowledge with large complex facilities that entails boilers, chillers, and manufacturing. Preferred government experience, but not required.
