The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed Protection Engineer in the position of Engineer V-Protection Emphasis located in Tulsa, OK. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) seeks several Power Protection Engineers with a Professional Engineering license in any territory or state in the US. If you have a degree in Electrical Engineering, possess a PE and are familiar with applying the SEL products or competitor products to meet the challenge of delivering a project on time to our customers, this is your postion. These positions are located in the Oklahoma Branch of Engineering Services. The office is located in Tulsa, OK and reports to the main branch in Houston. This division provides high quality, innovative and high value systems and services using Schweitzer technology.

Engineer V - Protection EmphasisResponsibilities:
* Develop and maintain an expert level of technical expertise in electric power system protection and/or automation.
* Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solution to electric power system protection and automation.
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of successful proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems. Be a secondary customer contact on primarily technical matters.
* Work within the project team to resolve customer concerns and foster customer satisfaction.
* Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
* Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
* Assume Project Management role on assigned projects.
* Assist and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
* Supervisory duties as assigned.
* Follow and improve applicable processes.
* Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development lifications:
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
* Professional Engineers License in any state or territory of the US
* Over ten years of experience with electrical power systems practices
* Working knowledge of automation systems
* Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
* Willing to travel up to 25% both nationally and internationally
* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and generation systems
* Experience being a part of project teams and leading teams
* Expert knowledge of system protection, integration and automation applications
