JOB DESCRIPTION Work in a leadership capacity with campus constituencies, campus administrative and academic leadership, and campus advisory groups to gather application requirements and inform strategic planning and application development activities related to the HR/Payroll portion of the ERP. ? Work closely with ERP executive management, sponsors and stakeholders to ensure that the project aligns with both institutions? visions, expectations, policies and business practices ? Facilitate and coordinate examination of campus business processes by functional business owners for transformation opportunities while maintaining compliance with mandated campus, UNC System, and State of NC policies ? Oversee the development of detailed project plans and schedules and monitor and report on actual vs. planned progress. ? Work with the project management office (PMO) and campus IT leaders to assure that the defined project methodology is consistently employed throughout the project implementation ? Work with project team to ensure the incorporation of best business practices through the implementation and minimize customizations to the delivered software. ? Supervise and direct the activities of project staff. ? Manage relationships with contracted service provider(s) and ensure compliance with the applicable contract terms. ? Coordinate across technical and functional components of the project team. ? Manage and oversee the HR/Payroll project budget, monitor project expenses against the project budget and participate in delegated resource allocation decisions. ? Communicate project activities, issues, and progress to the appropriate governance and management groups, serving as one of the project?s primary ?public representatives? to ensure understanding and acceptance of the joint HR/Payroll project on both campuses.
Required Experience: ? Bachelor?s degree in a related field. ? A minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise-level project efforts and business process improvement in highly complex organizational settings, preferably including substantive experience in higher education institutions; at least 7 years of this experience must be in a senior-level project or program manager role. ? Substantial prior experience in implementing PeopleSoft human capital management (HCM) applications including HR, payroll, and benefits administration. ? Ability to build collaborative relationships within a team and across the project stakeholder community. ? Excellent oral and written communication skills. ? Ability to build consensus and drive decision making taking into account diverse opinions and competing operational goals and priorities; strong political and business acumen is essential.
Preferred Experience: ? Specific ERP implementation experience in higher education and/or the public sector, particularly with PeopleSoft. ? PMP certification. ? Masters degree in a related field
