Summary:
The financial analyst will assist with the review of all accounting related activities for the subsidiary to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reports. Analyst will apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze the financial information and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review corporate month end closing process to include journal entries, revenue recognition, indirect rate calculations, and consolidated financial statement preparation.
2. Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets and generate various month end and annual financial reports as required.
3. Prepare and analyze the SBU and subsidiaries' general ledger account reconciliations.
4. Update unbilled receivables schedules and provide weekly analyses.
5. Review fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
6. Support external audits as needed.
7. Collect and review financial data from various sources.
8. Perform "what if" financial analysis of direct and indirect projects to include projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, performance metrics and profit totals.
9. Knowledge and experience preparing corporate cash flow forecasting.
10. Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
11. Experience in GL, AP and AR with hands on experience in GL accounting.
12. Identify problems and work to resolve them and put controls in place to prevent future problems.
13. Conduct audits and analysis of indirect costs, and review practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner.
14. Adhere to and support all accounting and finance control procedures.
15. Assist VP of Financial Planning & Analysis on special projects as required.
16. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
* A BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or related field.
* Minimum 5 years experience with a background working within both government contract accounting and corporate systems.
* Must have working knowledge of accounting systems/programs; Cost Point a plus.


Computer Skills:
Must have advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPA preferred.

Clearance:
None required.
