Flight Sciences Technology GN&C Intern
Flight Sciences Technology organization of Boeing Research & Technology in Huntington Beach, CA is looking for an exceptional candidate for an internship in the Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GN&C) organization. The GN&C team develops technologies for present and next generation challenges. These technologies include tool development, stability and control analysis, control system architecture design and development, structural modal suppression technologies, and simulation. The GN&C team also interfaces with other groups to support research and development in areas such as active flow control, shape memory alloy actuation, hazard detection and avoidance, and multi vehicle collaborative control. This position requires teamworking skills and potentially some travel to a flight test site. As an intern, you will be required to perform challenging GN&C tasks such as flight control and flying qualities analysis, and aerodynamic stability and control analysis. Examples include supporting X-48C Flight Data Analysis and Test, and working on adaptive flight control research in support of very flexible flight vehicles.
Competencies Candidates must be well rounded with good technical, teamworking, and communication skills. The candidate must have strong initiative and be a self starter. Candidates should demonstrate the following competencies on their resume and during interviews: problem solving abilities, analytical skills, technical skills in guidance, navigation and controls, simulation, and experience with Simulink and Matlab.

Typical Education/Experience High school diploma or GED.

Graduate students pursuing MS / PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are desired. The summer program typically spans 12 weeks.
