The Company: United Cleaning Services Limited is a well-established Canadian facility maintenance company experiencing unprecedented growth. We provide a variety of services to large retail and commercial businesses nationally. Our Head Office is located in Brampton with branches in Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the General Manager of Operations for Ontario will provide overall direction and leadership to three Directors of Operations in the Retail & Commercial Cleaning Divisions to ensure productive relationships with business partners (Customers, Subcontractors, Day Porters, Suppliers), to ensure the company's goals and objectives are achieved. We are looking for a business minded, growth oriented individual, confident to drive the overall Ontario business operation in the most efficient way that will provide revenue and profitability growth. Responsibilities: - Manage retail and commercial operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives and policies. - Manage and control the technical and financial requirements of subcontractors, Day Porters, and Suppliers. - Implement cost break-downs for assigned locations. - Prepare Department budget; and monitor and control on an ongoing basis. - Implement cost control measures as required and drive profitability for the region. - Responsible for the overall P&L of division. - Approve human, technical and financial resources for store openings, renovations, subcontractor changes and special services in stores. - Work closely with Accounting Department to ensure timely and accurate billing to customers. - Direct, appraise, coach and develop Operations staff. - Manage subcontractor relationships and day-to-day operations to ensure contract compliance. - Ensure effective client communication and immediate response to client concerns. - Create action plans with Directors of Operations based on financial goals and business growth plans. - Develop, manage and control an incentive program for Quality Counsellors based on performance of the assigned stores. - Ensure productive relationships with business partners and maintain high levels of client, customer and employee satisfaction. - Provide strategic guidance to the direct reports to ensure service delivery - Ensure timely preparation and review of goals and development plans for direct reports. - Ensure accurate handling and completion of performance reviews and employee development plans within agreed time frames. - Coordinate Area and District resources, providing expertise to improve program and product quality. - Identify possible new business opportunities. - Coach and actively demonstrate Company values and leadership principles to operations staff. - Create a high performance, fair and exciting work environment that provides motivation and development opportunities for the operations staff. - Promote cooperation among team members to ensure smooth functioning of division. Ideal Candidate Requirements: - University degree or Post Secondary Education in business management, logistics management or other related program. - Extensive Operations experience in the cleaning industry - Strong knowledge of the cleaning industry - Advanced computer knowledge of Microsoft Office - Superior Management and leadership skills - Business acumen - Outstanding decision making and problem solving abilities - Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Effective planning, organizing and time management skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills - Possesses a powerful drive to be successful and is influential with others. - Previous customer service experience is essential coupled with solid understanding of operations.
