Graphic Production Design ManagerDescription/Job SummaryReporting to the Executive Director, Design, you will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations of the Graphic Production Design Department, including assigning, overseeing and leading the work of Graphic Detailers. You will also be responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the team and other resources within the department.
Responsibilities/Duties * Hiring, mentoring, and motivating a team of Graphic Design professionals, including: * Assigning projects and monitor progress against those assigned projects: * Performing performance evaluations; and * Working with managers and directors of other departments to establish priorities and timelines * Review the corporate calendar and develop plans for increased work load * Work with floor supervisor to ensure proper work flow and QA * Develop and manage a team of freelancers * Attend production meetings Required Skills * Expert knowledge of Adobe Photo Shop, Illustrator, Indesign and PDF pro. * Knowledge of large format printing techniques and materials * Must be detail-oriented, possess exceptional organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, competently handling demanding deadlines. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Individual must be able to effectively communicate and comfortably interact with colleagues, managers and clients. * Resourcefulness; possessing innovative problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Strong leadership skills; ability to delegate and give direction. Required Experience * 5 years experience working in a graphic detailing, production environment and/or any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. At least 3 years management experience.
Preferred Experienceâ?¢ Five (5) to Ten (10) years experience in a graphics production environment â?¢ Minimum of three (3) experience in a management or supervisory role
Required Education * Bachelorâ?Ts degree in Graphics Design or related degree from an accredited university. Required QualificationsConfident, assertive, and capable of multi-tasking. This individual must perform duties with minimal supervision, think on their feet, work as part of a team and possess a high sense of detail and organization, people skills are a must. DetailsINTER-RELATIONSHIPS Persons in this position interface regularly with the Director of Production and all graphics staff. Additionally this person will have contact with the Design, Fabrication and Warehouse staff as well as Account Teams in effort to determined the assigned tasks and ensure their completion.
WORKING CONDITIONS Most of the position holderâ?Ts work will take place in a normal graphics setting. However the surroundings can be chaotic, high energy, and presents less than favorable working conditions (i.e. noisy, high traffic volume, dusty and exposure to weather conditions) Position sometimes requires long hours.
