PCG is seeking aHeath Data Analystfor our Raligh, NC office. The Data Analyst will develop and manage a capability to acquire, structure and analyze large, complex health care datasets to: * Identify revenue opportunities for PCG based on potential revenue enhancement or cost avoidance for health care clients * Support the development of tools and service offerings based on those opportunities * Design, conduct and/or supervise data analyses for project teams in support of service delivery * Test data analyses according to recognized software development practices Specific Responsibilities: Data Analysis * Work with project teams to understand and document hypotheses, assumptions and constraints * Design analyses to test hypotheses, discover new opportunities and assess revenue potential * Supervise/conduct analyses and prepare reports for project teams * Advise project teams on ad hoc analyses Application Development * Work with project teams to define requirements for tools to identify and work individual cases * Work with application developers to design and test software tools, particularly regarding data structure and database links Database Design * Work with project teams to understand hypotheses and determine data requirements * Work with client personnel to understand data characteristics * Design databases to receive and validate client data * Design databases to support the analysis of large, complex datasets * Design OLAP cubes to support standard reporting and data exploration * Design data marts to support ad hoc analyses by project teams Database Administration * Coordinate establishment of data acquisition processes with client personnel, project team, and data center staff * Develop testing and QA approach for data loads * Develop staging process to move transactional data into analytic databases * Supervise/coordinate/conduct data acquisition, loading and staging tasks IT Infrastructure * Work with project teams to understand analytic needs and operational performance requirements * Work with database administrator to develop IT infrastructure plan, including data backup and archiving * Establish policies and procedures for sharing IT infrastructure among analysis projects * Coordinate use of IT infrastructure among analysis projects Required Skills
* Ability to manage and coordinate several ongoing assignments while meeting deadlines and performance goals * Dedicated team player able to coordinate activities across organizational and functional boundaries. * Experience designing large, complex, analytic databases. * Expertise in developing and implementing data analytic processes, evaluating the effectiveness of internal control systems, and designing and implementing new protocols and best practices. * Proven problem solving skills, particularly the ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems. * Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. * Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), communication, and interpersonal skills. Required Experience
* MA/MS degree in statistics, computer science, information science, or a related field * Additional certifications/experience in Microsoft SQL Server products (SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services); experience with Microsoft Access is helpful. * 3-5 years experience analyzing healthcare claims and eligibility data, preferably focused on Medicaid, Medicare and other government-sponsored health plans.
