Healthcare Investment Banking Analyst
The position will focus primarily on active M&A engagements and assistance in sourcing new engagements in the healthcare industry. He/She will work closely with all levels within the firm while executing a variety of corporate finance projects across multiple sub-sectors and supporting business development initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Assisting in identification of relevant healthcare companies for business development efforts including maintaining an existing marketing database • Researching and analyzing healthcare companies and their historical financial statements and prospective financial information • Building financial models, performing valuation analysis • Understanding capital markets trends, assessing a company's viability and financing alternatives in consideration of its strategic and financial objectives • Identifying appropriate strategic and financial buyers and sellers • Managing and executing due diligence, drafting proposal materials and transaction confidential information memos and presentations • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and anticipating and quickly responding to the issues that emerge when supporting a business in transition • Assist in healthcare research projects published by the firm
REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior work experience (2-3 years) in corporate finance or research at a large Investment Bank with a training program or work experience in the corporate development office of a healthcare company preferred. Experience with growth companies desirable • Knowledge of healthcare industry (not life sciences or pharmaceuticals) is preferred • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis • Financial modeling experience and solid understanding of financial statements • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both oral and written • Team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills • Demonstrated commitment to promoting integrity, leadership, and objectivity • Willingness to travel as required.
