Job Description
Research Director position in the Healthcare payer research team, with an emphasis on Care Management, Business Intelligence and Business Process Outsourcing technologies, processes and strategies required for Healthcare Payer organizations.
Collaborate with the research team to identify areas and topics of significant research interest and need in the Healthcare payer industry. Advise Gartner clients on a wide variety of technical and management issues. This individual must be familiar with the processes, drivers and challenges to Payer application strategy, and the activity cycles surrounding the deployment and implementation of technologies supporting this community. The ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable about Care Management, BI and BPO applications including the features that distinguish one from another and the challenges of deploying them. The analyst will have reasonably strong technical skills, but also be able to address some of the management and political challenges within Healthcare. The candidate must be willing to travel extensively and address client inquiries across many time zones.
This analyst position includes the following specific tasks:
* Prepare thought-leading, actionable written research, working in a peer review structure. * Support inquiries from clients across multiple time zones. * Speak at Gartner or other conferences as a subject-matter expert. * Demonstrate skill at analysis - seeking out and piecing together fragments of information, extrapolating, building and applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing conclusions from partial data. * Attend vendor briefings, vendor events, meetings with clients or exhibitions as required to further Gartner's research position. * Assist other parts of Gartner when required, for example: sales support; support to Gartner's separate consulting division. * Demonstrate skill at analysis - seeking out and piecing together fragments of information, extrapolating, building and applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing conclusions from partial data. * Attend vendor briefings, vendor events, meetings with clients or exhibitions as required to further research. * Assist other parts of Gartner when required, for example: sales support; support to Gartner's separate consulting division.
Job Requirements
* 10 years experience in the Healthcare Payer market * 5 to 10 years of IT experience * Knowledge and experience with Healthcare government reporting requirements * Understanding of back office processes * Good writing skills * Good verbal skills * Knowledge of vendors in this market * Ability to compare and contrast vendor offerings * Contract review experience * Good analytical skills * US location
