Job Description :
The Application Consultant brings specific technical knowledge about the application and applies it to the implementation for a specific customer. The Application Consultants will participate in the design, development, and implementation of an application. The application may be an existing Teradata application such as Teradata Relationship Manager, a Teradata custom developed application such as a web dashboard, or an ISV application. The Application Consultant role provides leadership in utilizing a defined application methodology to integrate the application into the customer environment. The Application Consultants also provide application proof of concepts and benchmarking services to prove the viability of new technology solutions to our clients. The Application Consultant may be the Lead Consultant on a project;

Additional Job Description:
We are looking for a Sr. Industry Consultant to work as a part of a dynamic team in a rapidly growing entrepreneurial company. While the role is truly one of individual contributor, a high degree of interaction and teamwork are required to be effective in the role. The Industry Consultant is a key role within the Demand Chain Management implementation team responsible for successfully installing the DCM application software at major retailers throughout North America. This resource works closely with the DCM Project Manager, Batch and Online technical leads to ensure that the software is successfully installed at the customer site and that it is delivering the desired results. The Industry consultant is responsible for working with the Retail business team to ensure that all business policies are set to ensure that the expectations of the customer are met. The Industry consultant will work with senior levels of management within the Retailer including SVP, VP, Director and/or Manager of Merchandising. The qualified candidate will possess excellent writing skills and have good teamwork, leadership and communication skills, and a strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and should have a blended background of actual retail experience and business consulting experience from a consulting firm.

Specific duties include:
1. Being the lead business consultant providing knowledge of both the DCM application and the Retail/CPG industry business practices.
2. Leading the team in development of the business requirements.
3. Running the client data through the DCM application
4. Executing test plans (unit/systems/integration)
5. Resolving business installation issues on-site
6. Working with and supporting the batch and on-line consultants for investigation into data issues
7. Tuning of the seasonal profiles to maximize forecast accuracy and meet client business needs.
8. Establishing and creating business policies to maximize forecast accuracy and meet client business needs.
9. Develop and lead training the client'''s business staff on how to most effectively use the DCM applications
10. Supporting the business integration of the application into the customers' business environment and processes
11. Provide on-the-job training for client business users
12. Logging incidents to be investigated at head office
13. Providing input to weekly, or bi-monthly client project status
Skills & Attributes:
1. Merchandising/Category Management; Assortment Mgt; Promotion Mgt.; Supply/Demand Chain, Forecasting & Replenishment, experience in the Retail Industry (GMS and/or Food preferred) or CPG Industry
2. A firm understanding of the business processes and metrics that drive success in the retail and CPG industries.
3. Ability to use retail experience to provide a consultative approach to business problems using highly developed written, conversational and presentation skills.
4. Relationship building skills with top level executives within the business and technology organizations of a retail company.
5. A strong understanding of the business benefits, ability to articulate the impact of retail applications and Information Technology systems that support the retail and CPG industries.
6. Comfortable with discussing business and industry issues with senior level executives.
7. Project importance of making and keeping commitments, sense of urgency, follow through and high energy level
8. Ability to discover, calculate, measure, and present ROI (return on investment)
9. Results oriented, whether quantitative or qualitative
10. Knowledge of application implementation methodologies and approaches.
11. Strong presentation skills that exhibit strong leadership skills

Minimum Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor'''s degree in Business Administration or 5 years of equivalent work. MBA desired.
2. 5 years successful senior retail or CPG management experience
3. 5 years' experience in a retail planning or supply chain environment or consulting experience with related software applications
4. Preferred Qualifications: a. MBA b. Forecasting and Inventory Replenishment software application knowledge c. NAC Security Clearance preferred Business Consulting Experience desired d. Business Consulting experience and/or experience to include profit and loss accountability by department/division, solving real world merchandising, planning and allocation and or category management, supply chain, store operations issues; process modeling is also desirable
